Every year over one million heart catheterizations are performed in the United States alone. This study would aim to find if these procedures truly benefit the patient or if they are unnecessarily performed. In order to get accurate results the study would need to take place over a 3-5 year time frame comparing those who had the procedure and those who elected to forgo. The study would monitor the subjects' cardiac-related hospitalizations, and if recatherization is required.
