How environmental chemicals mediate/influence comorbid chronic diseases?

Two of the greatest public health challenges facing the US today are obesity and asthma. These two comorbid conditions are also implicated in downstream disorders such as diabetes and CVD. There is evidence that environmental exposures contribute to a rapid increase in disease incidence. Using the AoU cohort to understand how environmental exposures exacerbate the cormbidity between these conditions and subsequent disease progression will aid in developing intervention approaches for patients.
