AoU Research Priorities Use Cases

What are the long-term cardiovascular effects of cancer therapy? Do childhood cancer survivors have reduced cardiac functions?

To study adult cancer survivors who received cancer therapy during childhood. What are their cardiovascular functions as compared to adults who did not receive cancer therapy. Reduction of cardiovascular functions after anticancer therapy may take years to develop. These undesirable complications can compromise quality of life or shorten life span. This study will provide evidence-based guidelines for physicians to choose anticancer agents/protocols with better long-term outcomes.
