Could adding fecal sampling to the "All of Us" campaign help resolve role of gut microbiome in complex disease risk?

The simple addition of fecal sample for the use of gut microbiome taxonomical assessment could prove a valuable resource for testing hypotheses about the gut flora as a target of, and contributor to myriad human health and disease states. Fecal sample collection is non-invasive and gut bacterial lab methods are becoming increasingly refined and high-throughput.

Investigate whether ethanol consumption facilitates absorption of carcinogenic products from oral microbiome constituents.

Oral bacteria are known to have both beneficial and detrimental effects on oral health including carcinogenesis in the oral cavity.
