Does a diet high in carbohydrates contribute to obesity and diabetes?

The typical American diet, defined by high quantities of processed carbohydrates, and not high fat, has led to an obesity epidemic in the United States and well as skyrocketing diabetes. Conduct research to determine if chronic conditions such as diabetes can be improved through non-medication methods

There is a lot of controversy on whether a disease can be treated based primarily on a change of diet. With this study I would test the theory with participants from various groups to determine if the condition could be improved through diet and also determine is medication is needed for improvement
