A genetic variation in CREBRF promotes fat storage in Samoans; are there effective interventions for those with this variant?

Obesity prevalence among Samoan Americans, including Samoan children in the US mainland, are higher compared to other ethnic groups. A genetic variation promoting fat storage was observed among Samoans, but effective interventions to reduce the risk of obesity-related health outcomes among Samoans and perhaps other Pacific Islanders and Native Hawaiians with this variant require development and evaluation.
